MYSQL Setup

Mysql database administration

First you need to install mariadb and configure it by executing following commands

apt update
apt -y install mariadb-server mariadb-client
mysql_secure_installation

Install PHPMyAdmin

apt install phpmyadmin php-mbstring php-zip php-gd php-json php-curl

Select apache2 as the server

phpmyadmin-server-select

And provide a password for the login later

phpmyadmin-server-select

Now create a new Database and a new user for the database

mysql -u root -p
CREATE DATABASE test;

CREATE USER 'test'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY 'test';

GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON test.* TO 'test'@'localhost';

FLUSH PRIVILEGES;

EXIT;

And restart the apache server for it to take effect

systemctl restart apache2

Now open https://sdi1.g1.sdi.mi.hdm-stuttgart.de/phpmyadmin/index.php in the browser and login with test as user and password
